An Olympic day for an Olympic year!

  • News

This year’s theme celebrated the values of Olympism!

Each pupil from nursery to S5 was included in a team representing one of the European countries. The teams came together for activities on three occasions. On the European Day of Languages in September, they discovered various aspects of the country they represented. On Europe Day in May, they developed their group cohesion through team-building activities and preparations for the Games. And on 4 June, all the teams gathered at the Stade Claude Niquet in Marcq-en-Baroeul for a life-size Olympics. Over 600 people took part in the day!

It was a great day out, with pupils working together across the different school divisions to complete the cooperative challenges on offer and win points for their team!

A big thank you to the Parents’ Association, the after-school services for manning the activity stands and organising the day’s activities, and to the teachers and school life staff for supporting the teams in their activities.

And to all the students for playing the game and participating as a team. It was a great demonstration of the empathy and mutual aid between our students, whatever their age!
